In 2021, I co-founded the Maurice Duruflé Academy with the goal of reshaping classical music education to better fit the needs of twenty-first century musicians.
I firmly believe that everyone has a unique artistic vision worthy of refinement. I consider it my job as a teacher to help my students discover and explore that vision, while providing them a firm foundation in musical training.
I have worked with a wide range of different students, ranging from absolute beginners, to very advanced ― even advanced musicians who are beginners at piano. I emphasize healthful technique and practice habits, and stay up-to-date on the latest scholarship in injury-preventative technique.
I have spent much of the last few years curating a new pedagogical method for the organ, targeted at people with any range of prior piano experience.
