Joshua Sobel has been an avid musician for more than 17 years.
He currently serves as organist at Centenary UMC in Winston-Salem, NC,
and is Co-Artistic Director of the Maurice Duruflé Academy of Music.
As a recording engineer, he has produced recordings for, among others,
the American Guild of Organists, the Organ Historical Society, and the
Oxford University Music Press.
I am honored to have been asked to record the Piedmont Wind Symphony's winter/holiday concert in December 2023.
This was an especially interesting experience, as it was my first time using on-site recording gear for a large instrumental ensemble,
with a very limited time for set-up. The resulting recording of the whole concert was broadcast on WTOB.
20 February 2024, 12:00pm - Shirley Hall, Salem College, Winston-Salem, NC Join Joshua Sobel, Nolan Anthony, and Adeline Knepp in a varied noontime program on the lovely Flentrop organ.
25 February 2024, 3:00pm - Centenary UMC, Winston-Salem, NC The UNCSA Cantata Singers and Symphony Orchestra, directed by Dr. James Allbritten will be performing Maurice Duruflé's incredible Requiem. This concert will also feature organists Joshua Sobel and Julianne Zhu performing with the UNCSA brass ensemble.
